⏵ character information
name: Dabi (Touya Todoroki)
canon: My Hero Academia
age: 24
canon point: Post Ch. 296
history: Right here
abilities: Given the nature of the world in question, he has a quirk called Blueflame. It can get wordy describing what all he can do with it, but here are some basic examples of his long range attacks/skills:

- Fireballs
- VERY strong flamethrower-like attacks (Stronger ones such as Prominence Burn can vaporize any target in it’s way)
- Fire Walls
- Able to fly through the air or hover

(As a note? Because his flames are BLUE, they’re much, MUCH hotter than regular flames for reference. They ALSO tend to actually hurt him the longer he uses his quirk.)

Other things he’s capable of?

He has high resistance to cold/ice attacks (thanks to his mom), an incredibly sharp eidetic memory, is incredibly durable and holds a much lower sense of pain thanks to his near death experience when he was a child. Not to mention his incredible smarts and skills of observation, not afraid to delve into psychological warfare if it has an effect on the person he’s facing against.

personality:

Dabi (or rather, Touya Todoroki) is someone who once wanted to be a hero just like his daddy. As the eldest Todoroki son, he was set to be the pride and joy of the family… until the realization hit that his own flames actually burned him (thanks to his mother’s predisposition to ice/cooler temperatures) and his dad tried to put a stop to it.

It just fueled the non-literal fire within Touya and he practised hard.

He wanted to impress his dad and show he was worth it. To prove that he was still worthy of being called HIS son. This obsession drove him to a point where he nearly died. Coming back after a three year coma, he found that his dad just replaced him with the newest son, Shoto. It changed everything and this fuelled the change that lead to him becoming a villain.

Touya adopted the name ‘Dabi’ as his villain moniker and when he re-emerged in the world? He was stoic, sardonic and had a thirst for violence when it came to taking down the heroes down several pegs. Cut down the society that seemingly had no place for him, and if this meant ruining his body in the process? So be it.

His only overall goal before he died was to take down his father and see him suffer in the process. Well aware this path meant he burned himself out like a candle. He has little regard for his own life, and believes fully in that the past will never die and his father will get what’s coming to him for how he treated him AND how he continued to treat his family over the years.

Yet there’s still that boy deep down that just wants to impress his dad. To have his dad acknowledge him truly.

He has had no problems manipulating others, and is much smarter than people seem to initially give him. Someone who knows how to pick his fights and can pick up on things quick amidst a battle, leading to that he’s a very blunt man who is unafraid to tell people how it is. If they don’t like it, that's not his problem.

Dabi is also very much the type of man who will not do anything he doesn’t truly want to, and refuses to show or acknowledge his own true emotions. He claims he felt nothing from being with the League OR that he doesn’t feel bad for Twice’s death other than the guy ‘could help him achieve his goals’ but it’s just on the surface that he truly ‘believes’ that. He puts on a front to push away other people because why get attached if he’s just gonna end up dead sometime in the near future?

When he reveals his true identity as Touya Todoroki, he becomes more expressive with wild, manic grins and the like. No longer suppressing his true self, so the one people will see is a mix of the ‘real’ him and his ‘Dabi’ persona until he becomes comfortable enough to actually tell people the truth about him.
